We are seeking a highly-skilled VP of Data Engineering with a background in the technology sector. VP of Data Engineering's main task is to make executive technology decisions on behalf of the company, including managing a technology budget and making investments to align the company with its vision for its technological needs. You should be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator and an expert in technological development.
You will work directly with the CEO and other C-Level and VPs, you will act as both a technology and business expert, making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of the company.
VP of Data Engineering Responsibilities:
Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company. Including but not limited to: AI development stack, infrastructure stack, company technology playbook, etc.
Ensuring that the technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.
Outline the goals for research and development.
Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.
Making executive decisions on behalf of the company's technological requirements.
Manage and run the team, acting as a mentor to team members and grow the team members.
Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivering of IT projects to market.
Managing technology budgets and time frames.
Staying on top of technology trends and developments.
Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
Conducting software project management, including development process, project planning, monitoring and controls
Building and maintaining technological business partnerships with vendors and suppliers
Setting up and maintaining the team's budgets, processes, and procedures.
Working closely with a web development team and data science team to deliver the solutions to customers.
Lead internal IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, processes, monitoring and controls.
Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.
Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.
Run a team function for troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to internal IT.
Ensuring compliance to regulatory standards, PIMS and ISMS and related standardsQualification :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Master's degree in related technology fields or MBA is preferred.
6+ years working in a technological role.
3+ years of managerial experience.
Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technology.
Exceptional team management skills with proven track of records
Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Thai. (Japanese is a plus)
Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future especially in AI and Machine Learning technology.
Ability to coordinate across different teams efficiently.
Good understanding of regulatory standards, ISO's information system and privacy standards.
Experience leading and managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems.
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
